Dstore won't authenticate, SSH does [message #29152] Sun, 02 November 2008 01:30 Go to next message

If I set the properties of any of the services to use dstore, they will
not authenticate; OTOH if I set the properties of the services to use SSH
then (using the identical password) the services work fine.

I can't seem to find any log that is produced by the dstore daemon on the
target.

The error I receive is: RSEC1002

The target is Puppy Linux 4.1, and the dstore daemon is running with Java
1.5.0_09.

How do I go about determining why the authentication is failing?

Thanks,

Rennie

Hi Rennie,

I'm not sure what the problem may be but there are a couple possibilities
that have come up before. Have you tried viewing the console from which the
daemon runs to see if there's any useful information? Unfortunately, dstore
doesn't log daemon authentification problems.

Here are a couple bugs that had been opened regarding problems connecting to
the daemon:
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=252657
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=245714

Could you let me know a bit more about your configuration? (i.e. which port
the daemon runs on, which port is specified in the server launcher
properties, etc.).

Thanks,
Dave
