I'm bit confused about global variables showed in the Properties tab (see attached screenshot). I saw they are introduced as extensionElement in the source .xml file and infact the BPMN 2.0 specification never refers global vars.

How should be used in the BPMN modeler plugin?
What the difference with the local vars?

many tks,
ac

Global Variables are actually a jBPM extension and not defined by the BPMN 2.0 specification. The so-called "local variables" are BPMN 2.0 Property elements.

Smile great

I thought the global vars was an extension introduced by the jBPM plugin (BPMN2 Modeler): that's why I'm asking here. My fault.

many thanks Robert

Well, yes and no...Global Variables are a concept only defined by the jBPM engine. The BPMN2 Modeler in its "generic" form only supports the BPMN 2.0 specification and does not know about these Global Variable extensions. The jBPM editor plugin which extends BPMN2 Modeler however, DOES know about Global Variables and contributes these (and a whole bunch of other stuff) as BPMN 2.0 language extensions. Hope it's starting to make more sense now Wink
