Newline option not available when table is empty [message #1504403]

Hi all,

I have defined a table (edition table) representation and created a "create line tool" in order to create new instances that will be represented in the table.
The table has only one "line" defined and a feature column.

The create line tool is defined to create a new instances of the class that is matching the line definition of the table.

But when the table is empty the "create line" option is not available in the context menu (I tried on multiple locations in the table).

When a line is already present in the table, I can click anywhere in the table an the create line option is visible in the context menu. Seems that the create line option does not become available when the table is empty. Is this a bug or are we doing something wrong?

You should have a dropdown button in the eclipse main toolbar to create
your first line. Then when the table is not empty, the top level line
creation menu should be available from any line selection.

The bug 453522 [1] has been created to report this confusing way to
create the first line. Do not hesitate to comment it or propose
improvement ideas.
