I found the article I was refering to: "On Behavioral Model
Transformations in Web Services". It can be found at
http://www.cs.bham.ac.uk/~bxb/Papres/eCOMO-paper-011.pdf
It deals with activity diagrams, not sequence diagrams, though, but
could be of use.

Thanks Juan, you are most diligent! I think the other behaviour
diagrams, save sequence diagrams, are the ones that are most useful for
code generation. I got some workarounds going for them but the fault is
in the UML specification. If you look in the uml2 newsgroup you will
find some more details why sequence diagrams are currently a bad choice
for code generation.
