I'm trying the recording tests with web applications right now. I tried to
copy the example you illustrated in the help file. But I wasn't able to
record any actions. I started recording and went on the amazon site and
clicked some buttons etc. But TPTP didn't record any of that.
Whenever I start to record the recorder control view displays:
Recorder initialization completed. You may manually start application.
This is never displayed in your examples. Maybe I did something wrong. I'm
glad for any help,

Sorry it took so long to answer your request. You can select which
browser you are using by going to Window->Preferences->Test->HTTP
Recording. Use the pulldown in the "Application to Record" . This will
only show what browsers are available to you. If you are using Hyades
3.3, you will only see Internet Explorer (for windows) and None for Linux.
If you are using TPTP 4.0, you will see IE, Mozilla and Firefox (on
Windows) and Mozilla and Firefox (on Linux). You can select the one you
want.
Then you can do Window->Show View->Other->Test->Recorder Control. Click
on the "New HTTP Recording" button to start a recording. It should
automatically configure your browser correctly and you should be able to
record.
However, if you select "None" from the "Application to Record" selection
window, then you must start your browser (whichever browser you want)
manually. When your browser starts up , you must manually configure your
browser, set it to use a proxy, set the protocol to Socks and the
hostname / port to "localhost" and 1080. This is where proxy recorder
is "listening" to http traffic and will create a .rec file that is
generated into a test. You must also make sure the browser is not using
automatic proxy configuration or 'bypass proxy for local addresses".
