Eclipse Marketplace window is black [message #1462549] Wed, 05 November 2014 12:54 Go to next message

This happens on Luna and Mars but works on Kepler. So I'm stuck on Kepler and can't move forward to newer versions. OS is Fedora 15 and I'm pretty much stuck with that. Happens on all themes. White text on gray buttons and tabs is also hard to see, how to change?

If you don't get good response here, try asking in the Marketplace Client forum group.

Thanks, is there a way to move this there or should I start a new one?

Rich, sorry for the late reply. I'm watching this forum via email notifications and apparently moving a topic doesn't send those... Sad

A couple of questions: I assume this is Gnome 3? Could you please verify if this also happens when running Eclipse without GTK3 support? To do that, set the environment variable SWT_GTK3=0 before starting eclipse:

export SWT_GTK3=0
./eclipse

I assume with themes you are referring to Eclipse themes, not Gnome themes? Do you have the white text on gray buttons with all themes? And is this limited to MPC or is it the same across Eclipse? We are using the default SWT/Eclipse UI colors, so you should get the same colors in MPC as in the rest of Eclipse. I know that as of yet, not all Eclipse UI elements are fully theme-able, which is especially obvious with the dark theme.
