Hello,

I am having a quite a problem. Within a Component diagram I am attaching an uml interfaces to a server and clients. And I am attaching a uml class to a composite. Although, they are being referenced in their appropriate property tags ("REferenced Interface" and "Reference Class") within the relevant Properties tab, one can not see those links visually as it used to be seen in Obeo?

Does anyone have a solution for that please? or have any ideas ?

Thank you in advance..

We would need more details/context. Are you using a custom modeler you
created yourself with Sirius or UML Designer from [1]? Which version of
Sirius do you have installed? Are there any errors visible in the error log?

Hello,
Sorry for the late reply.

Yes, we are using our own custom editor created using Obeo. Our editor is linked to an old version of UML designer (version 2.2.0) in the following way. In our Ecore metamodel we have an Eclass "A" that has a reference to a UML Interface. "A" is represented as a Node Mapping in our editor. We use Imported Container Mapping in order to import UML Interface representation from the UML Designer and to show UML Interfaces on our diagrams. We use Relation Based Edge in order to represent the relations between instances of A and UML Interfaces.

Now we are trying to migrate our editor from obeo 6.2. to sirius 1.0 and link it to the latest uml designer which is 4.0.1. I was able to make our designer compile on sirius 1.0 after configuring all the necessary dependencies and method modification.

My problem now is that I do not see the UML Interfaces on my diagram in Siriuse and I do not see the edge between class A and UML Interface.
Do you have any idea of what might be the reason?

Thank you in advance.
Nassim

Side-note: you probably mean "Obeo Designer". Obeo is the name of the
company.

Sorry for the late answer.

From what you describe, I suppose your own VSMs define "Diagram
Extension Description" which references the "viewpoint:" URI of the base
diagram description in UML Designer. I believe between version 2 and
4.0.1 UML Designer has reorganised and renamed its representations and
viewpoints. This means the URIs in your VSM may need to be updated to
correctly refer to the current version's diagrams.

Hello,

Thank you for the reply.

In our odesign file. we load the uml2.odesign file too so that we can use the uml designer properties and graphical properties.
I understood that I have to modify and tweak the parameters in the properties of the "uml2.odesign" in order to configure for example CD_class and CD_interface for the classes and interfaces respectively. Moreover, these parameters need to be imported in our odesign file in order to be effective in our own VSM. An example of that is the reference classes (in Reference Class) in our odesign file. I wanted to add a snapshot of our odesign file with the uml odesign file but could not attach it (how do i attach an image to a post on this forum??)

Now, my question is: Is there some sort of tutorial or guidelines or documentations that explains the parameters of the uml designer in its odesign file in order to understand how it works and what sort parameters to use? Rather than, tweaking and working in a trial and error fashion? Because, now i am working on a trial and error fashion to understand what each parameters does. This is quite time consuming and randomly. Razz

Thank you so much in advance for all the help you can provide. Smile
