1.1.4rc1 and links question [message #25328] Thu, 28 August 2003 18:30 Go to next message

I installed ajdt 1.1.4rc1 into Eclipse 2.1.1 along with aspectj compiler
version 1.1.1rc1. I then created a project to try out the examples provided
with the compiler. I did this:
- Created an AspectJ project
- Opened the project properties in Java Build Path, add new source folder
- Create new Folder... > named "examples",
- Used "advanced..." to link to the examples directory in the AspectJ dist:
{dist}/docs/examples

I then selected the project and selected Rebuild Project. An error dialog
displays stating that it can't find the Makefile, and it contains the
correct path to the file when referenced from the workspace. It looks as if
it is not traversing the link properly. I tried this same scenario with the
previous version of the plugin and the project built successfully. Is this
a known issue with the release candidate?

Hi Scott,

It wasn't a known issue until we saw your note :-)

Thanks to your detailed description we were able to precisely recreate the
problem and have just today put a fix in for this. You can expect improved
behaviour in the next 1.1.4 release build.
