Hi

from what I understand there's no way of testing the content assist on a
Text field, is it?

Something like autoCompleteProposal in SWTBotEditor

It depends on what you mean by testing content assist.
If content assist is already shown, then it is most likely another
Shell, and SWTBot can look for items in it.

Mickael, I actually meant a method in SWTBotText like the method SWTBotEditor.autoCompleteProposal

Do you think it's worth adding it to SWTBotText?

That's worth discussing (on swtbot-dev to get more opinions).
My first idea is that showing up a pop-up is part of the application,
and not of SWT core, so I don't think it fits directly into SWTBot.
