Hi,

I was wondering if there's anything I could do to improve quality of generated images (diagrams) in EPF?
On the attachment below you can see comparison of a editor view (left) and an generated image (right).
index.php/fa/19198/0/

The second is not only lacking anti-aliasing (which is ok, I can live with that), but there's too strong jpeg compression, and I find it annoying and unnecessary.

A quick fix would be welcome. Maybe I can tamper with some .jar file?

Thanks in advance.

Hello again

I have managed to change some quality related code responsible for generating different diagram in EPF.
Below you can see that now EPF is generating less compressed jpegs and some anti-aliasing is added to (I purposely disabled it on the text, beacause and you can see in first post there are some issues with some letters).
index.php/fa/19267/0/

If you want this in your EPF, I have attached my jar files.
Just move out the originals one (files with name starting e.g. org.eclipse.epf.authoring.ui, but timestamp will be different) from plugins/ to some folder outside eclipse, and put my ones in the plugins folder.

I include MD5 checksums:

Hi,

I don't think I can contribute, I don't see a way to make pull request, but I made a patch.

Hi Greg,

Thank you very much for these .jar files. They surely improve how the diagrams look when published. Cheers!

Hi Bruce,

I am a newbie at EPF and everything that is tied around it, including it's usage and the processes that can authored. I don't know how to code or even contribute code to the project. I am sorry if I gave you the wrong impression.

I am also evaluating RMC for the company that I work for and have suggested that we go in for one license. But, the people at IBM haven't responded to the request of a quotation that was raised through their website. It's been more than three weeks now and I will try to follow-up next week again.

Thanks,
Devang
