Hi,
I'm using Jubula to test eclipse UI. Every object from the project explorer , outline, console, menu are identified/ mapped by Jubula correctly. The center tab, which is the DSL / Xtext editor is not getting identified at all. Anything that I type / edit within the editor is not recorded in the observation mode. Please help.

!!Please see the attachment for more info.!!

Thanks.

Hi Deepa,

I'd recommend taking the object mapping mode and trying to map the editor / the text area in the editor. If that can be mapped, then you can use replace text and check text actions on the component, taken from the unbound modules.

Best regards,
Alex

The object mapping mode does not recognize the center frame. I tried the option the you mentioned here Alex. Is there any jubula extension for recognizing xtext?

Hi Deepa,

If the editor is not yet recognized in the object mapping mode, then you could write an extension that recognizes it. There's information on doing that in the Extension Manual, and if you get stuck then you can send a mail to the rc-dev list. At the moment it's not supported out of the box, but if you do write an extension for it, then we'd be happy to review a patch.

Depending on what you want to do within the editor, you could simply make the editor mappable so that you can perform replace text, check text etc. If you want to do actions such as entering text at specific places, then you might also need some actions to click at a certain text position in the editor and then enter the text.

For now, a workaround is probably to click in the editor using "click in active window" and to use "application input text" to enter your text. Again though, it will depend on what exactly you want to to.

Best regards,
Alex
