I am working with 64-bit Luna Eclipse on a 64-bit Windows 7 machine. I received the following error message when attempting to launch my first "Hello World!" Java project: "The selection cannot be launched, and there are no recent launches"|
To create the program a clicked on File>new>java project. I named it Hello World.
I then created a package called Hello.
I then created a class called HelloWorld
From there I put in the code and saved.
I then clicked on the green run button. That is when I get the above error.
After Googling the problem I could find nothing but solutions with older versions of Eclipse but attempted to follow them anyway with no luck. I did the following:
Right-clicked on HelloWorld.java in the package explorer, went to Run As>Run Configurations. This brought up the Run Configurations window. I clicked on Java Application and hit the New Button. In the stuff I found on Google, this should have fixed it but with Luna it opens up a New Configuration box with a bunch or tabs (Main, Arguments, JRE, Classpath, Source, Environment, Common). I have no idea what IO am supposed to do here and can go no further until I put something in the Main Class text box. Since my Main Class is called HelloWorld, that's what I put but I get an error saying Could not find or load main class HelloWorld.
I am at a loss. Please advise.
