Hi There,

I understand that Adrian S. has been recently added as a committer on the
project (congratulations :) ) and that one of his current projects is an
autobuild system for the buckminster project itself. I recall hearing that
the proposed system would make use of Hudson, the open source Java CI
server, and presumably :) buckminster.

We're considering Hudson as an alternative for our own autobuild system and
have already put some investment in 'buckminsterizing' our builds. I'm
wondering if you would have any best practices/tips to offer in integrating
the two technologies? I know for us, something like that would be
tremendously useful as a 'how-to'. Perhaps it's a good candidate for a
tutorial on the wiki? - a true 'start-to-finish' example using buckminster
from clean workspace to artifact publication.

Thanks
Todd

Thanks a million for your good wishes. The Buckmsinter build system is
now in place using Hudson and if you look at the archives for this
newsgroup you can find my thread "new build system in place" where I
give the details. There is also a build.xml file that is used by Hudson
to do perform the build sent today. It sets up everything required to
kick off buckminster to do the materialisation and build.

So I have one or two more things to get cleaned up in the build based on
feedback from Thomas and I hope to get to them before the end of the
week. I will then put what I've learnt on the Buckminster wiki pages.
But that will have to wait until next week due to other work commitments.

In the meantime, if there's something you come across drop me a line and
I'll try to help you.

Cheers,
Adrian.
