Need AJDT on Luna [message #1389624]

Eclipse Luna has been released and I am using it for my development.

I need to do include some debugging logic in my work and I want to use AJDT to do it in an integrated and conveneint way in Eclipse.

I am also new to AspectJ so if you offer any workarounds please offer newbie-friendly instructions.

Primarily this is a question about the release timeline. The last AJDT was on 6/22/2013 and it is just over a year so hopefully it is around the corner, or already done but somehow not released?

I am no longer on the AJDT project, but I do know that historically, AJDT has been released shortly after the Eclipse release. So, it should be available soon. You can also grab a snapshot build from the update site. See the project webpage for how to do that. Also, you can ask more questions on the aspectj-users mailing list.

Thank you for the information. I will try to grab a snapshot build if I can find it (there is no update site for Eclipse 4.4), or just wait for the hopefully soon release.

I have same issue. May be I don't know how to use the link (http://download.eclipse.org/tools/ajdt/44/dev/update/) !!!

I opened help>install new software>click Add> Location (http://download.eclipse.org/tools/ajdt/44/dev/update/) > click Ok> From the list I selected the Aspect J Development tools

I get the error:

Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be found.
  Software being installed: AspectJ Development Tools 2.2.3.e42x-RELEASE-20130625-1400 (org.eclipse.ajdt.feature.group 2.2.3.e42x-RELEASE-20130625-1400)
  Missing requirement: AspectJ Development Tools Core 2.2.3.e42x-RELEASE-20130625-1400 (org.eclipse.ajdt.core 2.2.3.e42x-RELEASE-20130625-1400) requires 'bundle org.eclipse.jdt.core [3.6.0,3.9.0)' but it could not be found

Somehow, you are installing AJDT for Eclipse 4.2. You are not grabbing the latest version of AJDT. As far as I can tell this version is available from the update site that you are using. Make sure that you are using the update site that you think you are and if you are still having a problem, then please contact the aspectj-users mailing list.

Thanks I got the last update from ftp.acc.umu.se/mirror/eclipse.org/tools/ajdt/44/dev/update/ which was ftp.acc.umu.se/mirror/eclipse.org/tools/ajdt/44/dev/update/ajdt-e44x-20140624-1700.zip

PS: If you use Help> Install new sotware and then type AspectJ you get this file too.
