Hi !

When showing the "object references" view of the profiling data I find a
number of objects referenced by Hashtable$Entry. Unfortunately I can't
expand that element in the view to find out which object is actually
referencing Hashtable$Entry.

Does somebody know how I can find this out ? Thanks !

Jan

Hi Jan,

You can collect object reference information by click on the 'Collect Object
Reference' button in the Profiling Monitor View toolbar, or in context menu
on the profiling object (eg. process) you are profiling.

Hi Eugene,

Thanks for helping me out !

I thought I did that already. To make sure I did, I tried it. With the
same result.

I can follow the references of an object to Hashtable$Entry and there it
stops. There is no icon to expand the node any further. But when I look
to which objects are referencing Hashtable for example, then I see a
list of objects. I guess the one I'm looking for is amongst then. But I
would really like to go further then the Hashtable$Entry to be sure
which one it is.

Maybe it's the install that is wrong ? Or is this a known issue ? Maybe
inner classes are not supported ?

Linux Fedora Core 3
Sun JDK 1.4.2_08
Eclipse 3.1
TPTP 4.0 (tptp.runtime-TPTP-4.0.0-200507181519)

Are you able to check for the references of Hashtable$Entry. (Or
HashMap$Entry)

Hi All,

I am having the same issue, and the app that I'm profiling has numerous
HashMaps. So, it becomes a matter of guesswork to determine which
HashMap instance refers to which Entry.

So, in "Referenced By" mode, I see the following, where the Entry is a
leaf, not showing the HashMap, or [Entry, which references it.

MyClass.185761
|
|-----> HashMap$Entry.202499

Using Memory Statistics I can determine that instances of my class exist
when they should not, but not what is keeping the in memory.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Kevin

I am having the same
