Back when Borland announced that it was jumping on the Eclipse bandwagon I
questioned its motives and whether or not it deserved to be a part of the
community. I was rebuffed. And by some pretty high up folks in the Eclipse
ladder.

Now the CEO of Borland is stepping down and the company is reeling.

Can't help but to say "Told yaw so".

Let's hope that my suggestions/warning regarding RCP app provisioning aren't
as easily dismissed.

Good grief, James. Put a leash on that ego.

Hey, I'm not saying that I'm never wrong. In fact as a skeptic I'm often
pleased when I am. But my first allegiance is to the Eclipse project and the
high goals to which it strives. I simply do not want it to sell itself out
for free source to any moribund company looking to get deeper penetration
into the Eclipse developer community and leaving behind the corpses of
unfulfilled intent.

As for RCP, mark my words: if a simple and solid provisioning element is
added end user companies will flock to Eclipse. And, to be honest, I'm not
even sure it really depends on the Foundation. The question is whether it
gathers this low hanging fruit or soars with Icarus.
