Hi guys,

I'm not new to eclipse. I use the HELIOS version for PHP developers.
For some reason it doesn't work properly on both of my laptops.
- Lenovo ideapad S400 Touch i5 Windows 8 64bit. (this is the main one I work with now)
- Lenovo G500 i7 Windows 7 64bit.
It's very slow and slows down my whole computer.. until it crashes.

I Googled this problem for a lot of time and tried a lot of experiments on my eclipse.ini file, but still without any success.

This is what I have currently written in my .ini file:
-startup
plugins/org.eclipse.equinox.launcher_1.1.0.v20100507.jar
--launcher.library
plugins/org.eclipse.equinox.launcher.win32.win32.x86_64_1.1.0.v20100503
-product
org.eclipse.epp.package.php.product
--launcher.defaultAction
openFile
--launcher.XXMaxPermSize
256M
-showsplash
org.eclipse.platform
--launcher.XXMaxPermSize
256m
--launcher.defaultAction
openFile
-vmargs
-Dosgi.requiredJavaVersion=1.5
-Xms512m
-Xmx1024m
-XX:+UseParallelGC
-XX:PermSize=256M
-XX:MaxPermSize=512M

Please help me fix this problem I want to work properly Sad
Tnx.

What crash messages are you seeing? What if you launch from a Command Prompt window?

For some reason - today it's not crashing, maybe because yesterday I had Photoshop and other programs opened at the same time while eclipse itself is slowing down everything.
Now it is very (very!) slow and slows down all my computer.
pops up these messages
htt://i57.tinypic.com/348nm37.jpg
htt://i62.tinypic.com/2r3dz6q.jpg
and almost every time I save a file it takes a lot of time to save and shows me a loading bar "Building workspace".

Helios is 3 main releases behind. I'd move up to the current one, Kepler SR2, and see if it improves.
