What's the difference between Metamodel Type and Specialization Type? [message #230604] Sat, 16 May 2009 20:54

You can register a Metamodel Type and a Specialization Type via <extension
point="org.eclipse.gmf.runtime.emf.type.core.elementTypes">. So the question
is, what's the main difference between them and in which case to use which
type. For me it seems that both do nearly have the same functionallity.
Another question is, which one to use, when i want to do the same things
that Feature Seq Initializers offer like adding chieldren to a
container-element and setting values on creation, but dynamically at
runtime, without changing the mapping model.

Thanks in advance.
