No Draw2D docs for eclipse 3.2? [message #228776] Wed, 10 January 2007 07:13 Go to next message

When I google for layout related stuff, eg. LayoutManager and the
draw2d graph package, I find the 3.1 javadocs in the matches. That's
fairly normal for eclipse related stuff.

But for the Draw2D releated stuff, the normal trick of changing
"help31" in the URL with "help32" doesn't work. And when I browse
into the 3.2 docs, I find no javadocs for Draw2D package(s).

Is this intentional? Ie. draw2d is no longer to be exposed? Or have
the draw2d docs gone AWOL?

Thanx!

Hi,

Have you tried the Eclipse online help ??
If you downloaded GEF with documentation should see in the eclipse help
(Help -> Help Contents) an entry for GEF. Under this entry you have API
for Draw2d 3.2.

If you don't see this entry download the GEF packages with documentation
and put the GEF AND the draw2d docs plugins inside your eclipse
installation plugin directory and restart you workbench.

Hope this can help you

Manu

I have the GEF SDK installed, and the Draw2d API reference is present
there. Thanx!

Well, partially. At least now I've verified that Draw2d probably
isn't deprecated for 3.2...? :-)

But I really prefer to read my docs in my favourite web browsers, so I
would very much like to see the online 3.2 help be corrected. I'm
guessing it's probably something breaking in whatever generates
them...?

I agree with you that it is strange do not see Draw2d 3.2 API in the
Online Web Eclipse 32 API.

May be you should ask your question in the developer mailing list.

Hi Steinar,

Thanks for the catch, I made a mistake when working on
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=159421

I only provided the GEF doc.isv plug-in jar and forgot to add the draw2d
plug-in.

I have reopened the bugzilla.

Cheers...
Anthony
