my question is: what else should i look for to find out what the problem
is?

Which JVM is your Eclipse using? I think 3.3 version need Java 1.5? I
think the Eclipse starts with the 1.4.x version but if there's some
event or tool etc. which needs Java 1.5 Eclipse just won't show these at
all.

I installed the version 1.6.0 from Sun, but now it shows an error message
from another of the plugins () stating that it doesnt has the jvm 1.5 even
after adding it through the preferences, under the Installed JRE's Section
