i want to create crate a cross tab total like below

Area1 Area2 Area3
t1 6 2 4
t2 5 6 3
t3 3 2 7
t4 8 8 4
t5 3 9 6
total1(t1+t4) 14 10 8
total1(t2+t5) 8 15 9

any idea how can i calculate the total1 and total2 and add it in cross tab

You could probably use persistent global variables or something similar to store values to be used in the calculations. What is your BIRT version?
