Hello all,
I'm forwarding this from the cdt-dev mail alias. It is from the
embedded marketing workgroup. The deadlines are fast approaching for
EclipseCon 2006, so please consider proposing a talk, tutorial, or BOF
on embedded topics relevant to your area of expertise.

The embedded marketing working group is always trying to raise the
profile of Eclipse in the embedded market. To that end, we'd like to try
to reach out to more embedded market attendees at EclipseCon 2006,
particularly as the event is being held in the San Jose area, a hot bed
for embedded hardware and software development. We're working with the
EclipseCon planning committee to elevate our presence and contributions
at this event. Specifically we're hoping to do the following:
- organize a dedicated part of the show floor for "embedded" exhibitors
(an embedded pavillion)
- organize a "virtual track" on the conference agenda, featuring content
specific to the cares and concerns of the embedded developer
-project presentations
-panel discussions
-BOF sessions
Last year, we didn't formalize our contributions and while we had a
great list of suggested talks, we don't think many of them made it to
the formal submission process. This year we'd like to reach out to
committers for (a) content ideas and (b) volunteers to drive
submissions. We're also very interested in any creative ideas for
panels, especially those that show the use of Eclipse in the embedded
market. And of course, if you're interested in a particular topic for a
BOF, please let us know.

I'm planning on submitting an MTJ presentation to present the overview,
goals, motivation, status and current plan for MTJ.
I know Craig is planning to do an EclipseME session. While these are
not mutually exclusive projects (EclipseME and MTJ), we have not done
any appreciable exploration in how/if the could come together, or if
Craig is willing to contribute/donate to MTJ.
I suggest that I submit the MTJ session, and Craig the EclipseME, and
assuming they both get accepted, this can be sed to educate as well as
gauge interest in this work, and get feedback on what people think we
should do moving forward...

and willing to help in the definition of MTJ. In addition, I'm willing
to consider donating interesting pieces of EclipseME to the MTJ project
that I have the authority to provide. I have already provided Mika and
his team with an inventory of the EclipseME code that I would consider
providing to MTJ. Finally, there may be cases where I would consider
working directly on MTJ implementation, especially if it is
functionality that has direct crossover to EclipseME.
It should be noted that I'm speaking only for myself and for the
portions of EclipseME that I own the copyright. The other members of
the EclipseME team are free to be as involved or uninvolved as they see fit.

I think we're in agreement on this, and I was not thinking about putting
any unrealistic expectations on you <grin>.

I think we're in agreement on this, and I was not thinking about putting
any unrealistic expectations on you <grin>.
