Eclipse WTP project & Eclipse Java EE package differences [message #224485]

Hello,

I would like to know what are the differences between Eclipse WTP project
& Eclipse Java EE package.

I have read here :
http://dev.eclipse.org/newslists/news.eclipse.webtools/msg15 941.html
that the only difference is that the WTP one contains sources, the Java EE
don't.

Are there others differences ? If not, why keeping those 2 distinct
products ?

J2EE package also contains Mylyn 3.0 which isn't included with the
normal WTP downloads.

Besides Mylin mentioned by others ... it also contains Remote System
Explorer.

And, yes, the Java EE package does not contain "source". It is primarily
intended as a packaging convenience for users wanting to build web apps,
whereas the source is required by those wanting to extend WTP.

The other difference ... the biggest, probably (but maybe is obvious and
already known), is that the Eclipse Java EE Package contains all the
prereqs, in addition to WTP. That includes the Platform, JDT, EMF, GEF,
and DTP.
