[Adopter] Project facets question [message #223700] Tue, 11 November 2008 16:33 Go to next message

We have released our product that uses our own custom facets. In an
upcoming release, we want to effectively deprecate one of those facets,
meaning we want to prevent users from installing it onto any projects.
Is there any built-in support for "deprecating" facets like this? What
is the best path forward for a facet that has reached its end-of-life?

Note: we already have an upgrader that will automatically remove the old
facet from existing projects and upgrade them to the latest version of
our other facets when appropriate.

Any guidance is appreciated,
Eric

There isn't a way to deprecate facets right now, but this would be a cool
thing to support in the 3.1 release. Could you open an enhancement request?
