Hi there,

today I wanted to start to work with XWT but there is a problem for me.
I used the Update site mentioned here in the Forum and tried to install XWT.
The problem is that I cant download or install the XWT Workbench version 1.0.0M1.
Eclipse wont show me the perspective or let me create UI Elements, too.

Greetings Sascha

Hi Sascha,
In what case are you not able to download or install the "XWT Workbench" feature? Are there are error messages, or what failure/error messages do you get, or are there missing dependencies?

If I get you right, you expect the "XWT Workbench" feature to provide an XWT specific perspective to assist you in creating UIs. This is not the purpose of that feature as it is meant to be provide some glue code to get get started with hosting XWT UIs in Eclipse views/part, but it seems that the naming is confusing, so, we should change the feature name to "XWT Workbench Integration" instead.

If you need tools to get started with XWT, maybe, you can try WindowBuilder which has support for XWT.

Let us know if you need further information.

Hello there,

Sorry for my late answer. I had no time to get started with XWT at work but now I'm back.

I asked about the perspective because it is mentioned on thishttps://wiki.eclipse.org/E4/XWT/Running_the_demos site here.

I'm able to download and install RC2 I think without any problems.
Now I want to work with it together with E4 but where do I start?(with XWT)

I got my app. model and some parts for testing but I dont find any Tutorials or something like that about XWT. Maybe you could give me a hint on how to start or where to find informations.

I really like the whole concept and I'm sad that there is no real community for this.

My english is not the best but I hope you understand me Smile

Greetings Sascha

Edit: Ok I see I can't read sorry. I don't want to work with window builder because I don't like the code it's giving me. I hope there is another way.

2. Edit: Got all working. Going to love XWT!
