Hi
The question relates to section 15 of the Vogella Eclipse 4 RCP tutorial and Section 26.2 (page 109-110) of the Vogella RCP book (version 8.1).

In "add package dependency", when I go to add the javax.annotation and javax.inject packages they are not visible in the 'add' dialog so I am not able to add them as 'imported packages'.

I have been able to add them in the same way in other projects but for some reason they are not available in the current project. Can anyone suggest what the problem is?

Eclipse 4.3.2M20140221 -1700 + e4 tools
Java SE 1.6

Thanks
Geoff

You might want to contact Lars through his organization for clarification (http://www.vogella.com/contact.html). Vogella tutorials and content aren't provided by eclipse.org.

Lars posts an explicit disclaimer stating that he will not support his
tutorials in a one-one. He used to support a Google group by which
others who had worked out problems might answer you. However, he now
advocates the use of stackoverflow.com. I haven't checked for a
"vogella" tag there, but you might check.

Thanks. You're correct, I have had no response from Vogella. Was wondering if someone here might suggest why these packages were not available in that particular Eclipse dialog.

I haven't done that tutorial and I'm not educated on it or RCP, however,
in my experience, you go looking for the JAR that contains the package
by path, download it and add it to Eclipse Build Path manually. It's a
painful process that's made somewhat less painful by Maven (when Maven
can be used).

Hope this helps.
