I don't get www.eclipse.org to load right now. Looks like doubling the
bandwidth simply wasn't enough. If people can't even browse the website,
let alone access the mirrors page, maybe the webserver serving the
downloads should be separate from the normal one, if that's somehow
possible. The newsserver seems to be separate as well, as news access is
working OK.
As it looks right now, the Eclipse Foundation has organized a
devastating and long-lasting Denial Of Service attack on itself ;-)

BitTorrent used to be an option (circa 2.0 or 2.1 release, IIRC) - why
is it no longer being used for distribution?

For about 2 hours now we've had a spare server running as a mirror site
on a dedicated 100Mb line. It's been handling it fair share of
requests, and eclipse.org is no longer saturated.
