Hi,

Is it possible to create a project whose sole purpose is to contain
projects? In other words, it'll be creating a hierarchy of projects
within a single workspace (instead of the flat projects* per workspace).

The reason I ask this is that we have many software projects which are
composed of Eclipse projects and sometimes names are similar. Another
reason is that it makes it easier visually knowing where things are if
they're organized in that way. Finally, it also makes SVN management
easier since it's easy to know which projects go together.

This is more an Eclipse Platform question (so you might want to ask on eclipse.platform if you don't like my answer :) ...

but, no. I think technically there are some API's where this can be accomplished, but it's never been surfaced to end-users, as far as I know (hence, not well tested, etc.!)

But, there is the concept of "working sets" ... have you tried using those to orgainize your work. I think those might accomplish some of what you want to do.
