Powerpoint 2013 seems to be the only program in the office family that is doing this. Word 2013 works as expected and so do older versions of both programs.

Using a DragSourceListener and writing to the console when dragStart, dragSetData and dragFinsihed are called has shown that dragSetData is not being called.
