I tried to use the search tools as I'm sure that this question has been
asked and answered before but I couldn't come up with anything so I was
probably not using them correctly. Forgive me. :)
Anyway, I have a strange thing happening to me. I have a copy of Sun
Java Application Server PE 9 on my machine and I have eclipse connected to
it through the GlassFish V2 Java EE 5 connector. When I created the
server, I incorrectly specified the admin password (it was just left at
the default). In an attempt to correct that I have done the following:
Server View -> Open Server -> Edit Admin Password:
Doesn't work, persists till I close the server and then changes back to
the original password.
Edit the generated passwd file directly:
Obviously this doesn't work because the file gets cleanly generated every
time.
Edit sunappsrv-ant.xml directly and hardcode the correct password into the
file:
Doesn't work, I suppose because this file gets generated automatically?
Anyway, my real question lies in this, how could I recover from a password
change on the admin user? Why wouldn't the changes I made to the Server
from within eclipse drop through to the config file?
At this point I've solved the problem by recreating the connection to the
server through Server -> New and correctly specifying the password.
However, it's entirely conceivable that the admin would want to change the
password so I figure Eclipse has to be able to do this in some simple way.

Just wondering if there was any other news here? It seems like a
fairly reasonable question, if a little infantile. Any help would be
greatly appreciated.

You might have better luck asking on a newsgroup related to the
GlassFish plug-ins. The GlassFish plug-ins are built on top of, but
aren't actually a part of WTP. I don't think your issue is something we
can address in WTP.

BTW, did you have a recommendation on what newsgroup to move to. I did
a very quick search and couldn't find anything pertinent. Just thought
I'd ask someone who might know before I wasted too much time crawing
around in the dark.

Googling turned up "https://glassfishplugins.dev.java.net/". You might
try one of the mailing lists off the "Mailing lists" link on that page.
Unfortunately, a quick check of various archives doesn't show a lot of
activity. I don't know if there is anything better.
