Hello Everyone,
Along with recent updates to the IMP code base, we've issued a new IMP
User's Guide, which is available from the documentation page of the IMP
web site on Eclipse.org (http://www.eclipse.org/imp/documentation.php).
This is a guide for people who want to develop an IDE using IMP--it is
not a guide for people who want to contribute to IMP. Also, it is
focused on IMP, which is to say that it is not a guide to using LPG
(although there is some separate documentation about that on the IMP web
site and elsewhere).
The Guide is still only about 90% finished, but the information that it
does contain covers a large part of the IDE development process.
Also, the Guide is currently available only as a PDF file. In the
future, we hope to make it available in a more web-friendly form.
PLEASE NOTE: The IMP cheat sheets have NOT been updated to match the
new Guide. Actually, the information in the cheat sheets may be more of
a hindrance than a help, so, for the time being, I strongly recommend
relying on the new Guide for documentation of IDE development. We do
intend to update the cheat sheets, as soon as they can work their way to
the head of our priority queue.
If you have any comments or questions about the new Guide, please let us
know, either here in the newsgroup or (if it seems appropriate) in Bugzilla.
Regards,
Stan Sutton
