Trinidad components do not render in Visual Editor [message #205104] Thu, 29 November 2007 14:26 Go to next message

Hi List,

When I'm designing a JSF JSP with the visual editor, I only see empty
boxes in both the design view and the preview when I use components from
the Trinidad (1.2.3) component library. When I use the standard components
from the Sun RI instead, those components do render as one would expect.
Is there a way to get the Trinidad components rendered in the visual
editor?

The current mechanism is to provide "Design-Time Tag Metadata".

Open Help, and then take a look at the following items:

* JavaServer Faces Tooling Developer Guide
* Programmer's Guide
* Design-Time Tag Metadata Operations

and

* JavaServer Faces Tooling Developer Guide
* Tutorials
* Providing Design-Time Tag Metadata

The standard libraries work out-of-the-box because we have provided this
metadata for them.

We are currently looking at new ways of providing design-time visual
representations that may require little or no metadata - this is a lofty
goal, though, since there will likely always be a need for at least some
metadata to be provided.

Are you aware if such Design-Time Tag Metadata exists already anywhere
for Trinidad Components Library?

Thanks in advance,

Chemi.
