Is anyone aware of a bug in Eclipse versions at least as far back as
Indigo and still in Kepler? I'm running Eclipse IDE for Java EE
Developers in all cases, but I've also seen it in Standard and simple Java.

I've seen this on Ubuntu Precise and Mint 13 (both Ubuntu 12.04) running
Indigo, Juno and Kepler. I don't remember seeing it running Helios (I
don't think so, but I was running that back on Ubuntu Lucid
10.04/Maverick 10.10).

This occurs during a number of steps, usually associated in some way
with Build Path, but I can reliably create it this way in Kepler on Mint:

Right-click on a folder and choose Use as Source Folder.

As (I hope) is shown below, an empty alert appears which remains in
place just about no matter what else is done. And it's often persistent
in other workspaces (I don't mean Eclipse workspaces here) on my Linux
host (as shown in the second image which is from another workspace where
only Firefox is running.

The only way to get rid of it is to bounce Eclipse.

Why haven't I worried about this before? Too busy and I knew exactly
what I was doing, so I saw it as a minor annoyance, but now I'm working
on difficult code using Maven with which I'm not too familiar (being an
ant and Ivy guy for several years).

I've decided to ask about this before putting in a bug in case anyone
has seen it.
