With the Eclipse Luna release train Scout is changing its version numbering policy. With each release train Scout is participating in, Scout will increase its major version number.

This move is based on the observation that we need to have more flexibility in creating commercial/customer specific release branches that do not necessarily require an Eclipse release review.

As a result, Scout will ship version 4.0 as part of the Luna release train (and not as originally announced version 3.10). In consequence, the bugs fixed for the Scout Luna release train will combine target milestones of 3.10 (up to M5) and 4.0 (starting with M6). The most notable change between version 3.10 and version 4.0 will be bug 420491.

Please let us know as soon as possible if you have any questions/concerns regarding this update of the version numbering policy. This will allow us to work with you to resolve potential issues in time.

It seems to be OK for every body on the forum. With the new versioning policy, it is easy to know what is comming:

* Luna Release Train - June 2014 - Scout version 4.0.0
* Mars Release Train - June 2015 - Scout version 5.0.0

Ken just released a "Luna M5-2" Milestone version. This is Scout a 4.0.0-SNAPSHOT version, available on the scout/releases/4.0 Update Site.
