Dynamic ContributionItems in toolbars seem to be ignored completely in Eclipse 4.x.

I reported this here
and yesterday someone else reported this here.

This bug is keeping me from moving my application from 3.7 to 4.3.
It uses ContributionItems to create a customer perspective switcher and progress indicator.

What should I do to fix this?
