Hi all, I'm trying to create a release of xtext to be used internally because there are some blocking issues in 2.5.0 that will be fixed in 2.5.1 but until then the are still blocking progress.

I have followed the instructions in the contributor project, so I have buckminster and everything set up. I'll cherry pick whatever modifications I need and then want to create the internal release.

Can someone please describe the steps I have to follow to get this done? Especially the eclipse plugins, but if there are instructions for the maven side too, then I'd be happy to hear those, as well.

Best regards,
Andras

Fabulous. I'm installing it right away. Though, at another machine the same blocker error still exists after the update.

So my question still stands for how one could set up the development environment to not have half of the projects compile with errors, and how one can create a test release to try out when something is changed.

I really appreciate any feedback. For days I've been trying to set this up to be able to give better feedback on errors but so far all my attempts failed.

Regards,
Andras

Couldn't you just use the nightly builds?

Awesome! An Eclipse committer friend of mine suggested the same when we talked today. As long as there are no regressions, it should be fine. I didn't know about this feature.

Thanks,
Andras

PS: the other machine turned out to use Java 6 which caused the Xtend compiler to fail in various ways. Correcting this setting solved all issues and the new version solved the blocking issues as well. Thanks again!
