as I create a custom property window for my items on the canvas?

as I edit the attributes of the elements from the editor?

Hi,

I'm sorry but can you re-phrase your question? I do not really
understand what you mean.

Do you want to create your own properties view? Have a look at EMF, as
this is not a particular GEF3D problem -- the properties view is
independent from the graphical editor. In general, you never directly
edit the diagram. Instead, the model is changed and the change is then
reflected in the diagram. Of course, you may need to ensure that the
diagram controller (i.e., the edit parts) listen to model changes. But
this is again standard EMF technique.
