if you change the preferences in window->preferences->C/C++->debug and change the Number format for variables,expressions and registers from default to other like Octal and verify the same while debugging the C/C++ project the preferences which are set is not reflected but the default number format is shown. I am using the eclipse CDT on ubuntu 12.04 version (used Linux GCC to build and debug the project) and also verified the same in Mac OS
