I am exploring and learning about what I need to do to develop an eclipse 4 RCP application with JavaFX on a linux (CentOS 6.5) system. I have managed to successfully run my application but do notice some interesting messages in the eclipse console:

Can't create transparent stage, because your screen doesn't support alpha channel. You need to enable XComposite extension.

I haven't been able to connect the appearance of these messages with particular events or actions, although I did notice that selecting a combobox would generate the message. It doesn't appear to have any negative impact on the application (as far as I can tell), but I am still in the initial stages of exploration and investigation.

Does anyone have ideas on what might be going on here? Is this an indication of a problem and if so, if anyone has ideas about hwo to correct it, that would be appreciated.

You'd better ask at Oracle forums
