under http://www.eclipse.org/gef/ there is a book mentioned - it is
called SWT/JFace in Action - it is very good to get a basic
understanding about Draw2D and GEF. It has 2 Chapters in its appendix,
small but very useful about Draw2D and GEF.

did u have a look at the tutorial provided with the help of GEF 3.1.1
and the source code of the GEF-examples?
