Hi,

In Eclipse, Kepler, everytime anything touches web.xml then the Web Deployment Descriptor disappears. It reappears when I close and reopen Eclipse. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Karl.

Disappears from where? What do you mean by "touches"?

Yes,

disappears from the Project Explorer, where it is normally found, and touches, in this context, means edit, as with the xml editor.

Hello,
so, the file web.xml does not disappear (is not deleted), but the node in the Project Explorer that represents the deployment descriptor disappears. Is that correct? In which version of web projects does this happen? Web 3.1 0nly? or also previous versions?

Yes, that pretty much sums it up, except that I'm using Web 3.0. I just tried it out with a Web 2.5 project and the same thing happened.

This sounds like a bug Smile Could you please open a bugzilla against Java EE tools? https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/enter_bug.cgi?product=WTP%20Java%20EE%20Tools
