Hi.

Sometimes when running Eclipse, I get a GUI problem in all my GEF editor
implementations. The edit parts aren't positioned properly, and the figure
for each edit part is not entirely displayed. This is also the case with
BIRT.

I'm pretty convinced that this is not related to GEF, but the impact is on
GEF.

See attached file which is a sreen dump from BIRT. As you can see, the lower
table decoration figure has lost half its border, and the footer row has a
white space after it.

It is very hard to anticipate when this error arises. I have a feeling that
something goes wrong in the workbench during start up, but I cannot say
exactly what goes wrong. The error log does not report any errors as far as
I know.

Does anyone know what might be the problem.

/Stefan

Could it be the order in which the graphics are created?
So that sometimes the left part of the visual representation is created
after the right part and so 'covers' the border?

I am just guessing, as I am very new to this.

HTH
kind regards
Astrid

I don't think that's the problem. You see, when the problem occurs, not only
the gef edit parts get jamed. Also the icons in the palette aren't displayed
properly. So, what I'm actually saying is that I still think it's a more
high-level problem, that is, the entire workbench gets shaky for some
reason, and one consequence is that GEF goes crazy.

I would appreciate more help on this.

Thanks

/Stefan
