Have you already read some of the tutorials in http://wiki.eclipse.org/CDO/User_Contributed_Documentation ?

Some are not totally new but should still help, e.g. http://wiki.eclipse.org/Getting_started_with_CDO_Helios .

Cheers

hello
thank you very much for responding.
I have been several examples and have already taken a cdo served with "CDO / Hibernate Store" I think it's better than a DB / Store. whether I understand some differences between the 2 stores.

Now I'm riding an example RCP and exported as an application in that case the first thing to do is run the server. how can I run automatic way the cdo server and then run the application rcp.

It must first run the server
then I run the RCP application.

appreciate any input.

There's a store feature matrix:
http://download.eclipse.org/modeling/emf/cdo/drops/S20131217-0819/help/org.eclipse.emf.cdo.doc/html/reference/StoreFeatures.html

I think it's not up to date in all details, e.g., the HibernateStore now also supports auditing, but no branching (IIRC).

There's also a comparison of the different mapping strategies for the DBStore:
http://download.eclipse.org/modeling/emf/cdo/drops/S20131217-0819/help/org.eclipse.emf.cdo.doc/html/reference/MappingStrategies.html

I don't understand the question. Do you want to use a single client with the server and start the server automatically
with that client?

hello / Eike

thank you very much for the support provided.
  according to the last question
  > You must first run the server
> Then I run the RCP application

I mean:

I have an RCP application that will serve me as a client to connect to the database, but first I have to run the CDO server. until that point I ejecuntando works all in eclipse.

Now I want to export the RCP client application, which is not how I should run the CDO server because this application is no longer run on eclipse but as an executable on the desktop.

my doubts are as:
1. export the CDO aside and run as server.
2.Exporto rcp client application with the CDO server and as I run first before the app.

Whether DBStore or HibernateStore is the best for you depends on the sum of your requirements.

Cheers
