Where do you call SomeJFaceViewer.setInput?
The bigger question - is there an example of >> E4, XWT, JFace, EMF, Data Binding << working together?

There are a lot of examples that use jface viewers and POJO/Beans data binding.
In general they must work with the EMF databinding provided in XWT (if the data context is an EMF model).
For this you have to enable the org.eclipse.xwt.emf plugin in your runtime (which is not yet in the official build, you can find it in the git repository).

For now, please have a look at the test cases in the "org.eclipse.xwt.tests" plugin (in git repo) and map one of them to your case (and the EMF model you have).
