I have just installed the latest Eclipse 3.3 RC4 and installed WTP from
the Europa update site onto my Ubuntu 7.04 laptop.

When the J2EE perspective was not available I went looking and found by
starting Eclipse with the -debug -console -clean options that Eclipse had
picked up the jvm from my Lotus Notes linux installation.

Under Linux Notes is implemented as an IBM Workplace application and is
therefore running on Eclipse. It appears the jvm incorporated into the IBM
Workplace is not compatable with the latest version of WTP.

The solution is to specify the jvm when starting Eclipse
eclipse/eclipse -vm /usr/lib/j2sdk1.5-sun/bin/

This even though I have a JAVA_HOME environment variable set.

When Lotus Notes V8 is released soon both the Windows and Linux versions
will run as IBM Workplace applications.
