Other products/projects (the only thing I do like about Idea) allow you to
specify multiple web folders. They combine them to a temp location or
something before deploying even allow you to use inclusion/exclusion
patterns. Would be nice to integrate a system similar to the way we specify
the java source.

We have a system that has shared web modules between apps and it would be
usefull to be able to set up my system the way it is checked out. currently
we have an at task that runs to combine this. which doens't facilitate easy
web development.

I would even volunteer to help build the system to do this, if someone could
point me in the right direction of where to look.

Hi Adam,

I suggest that a good starting point is to file a feature enhancement in the
bugzilla:
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/enter_bug.cgi?product=Web%20To ols&bug_severity=enhancement

Please, describe in details how do you see this feature implemented: how the
project layout should change, what wizard pages and properties pages are
needed and how do they look. Attach screenshots if possible. Please, post
back in the forum the number of the bug you have filed.

I think that if the feature is described well it has it chances to be
implemented in WTP 3.0.

Of course, if you are willing to help with the development you may start
looking at the source code in the org.eclipse.jst.j2ee.web plugin.

Greetings,
Kaloyan

You may want to add yourself to the cc list for some of these existing
related enhancements:

https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=163221: Support
exclusion/inclusion filtering for virtual component wb-resource mappings

https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=133359: Add UI for .component
file

https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=107039: We should have a
resource mapping tool for flexible projects

Hello Adam!
Have a look to my post of 04/04/2007 with subject 'Multiple "WebContent"
folders': I have written a way to achieve what you need, but I still
miss a "clean" way to do this using Eclipse UI...

Thanks to Rob for pointing out those existing bug reports.
