Remote debugging with XDebug NEVER EVER worked ? [message #1201178]

Hi,

i'm having trouble to make eclipse works correctly with XDebug for remote debugging.

Everything works great if webserver and development machine (that i use to program and debug) are the same machine.
However, in case of webserver is in a virtual machine or on a remote site, and my programming/debugging machine are different, then Eclipse Kepler seems to not have breakpoints triggered at all Sad

I would like to know if someone has already been successful to REMOTELY debug website with XDebug and eclipse ?

if yes, how ?
Please it's really important as i must solve this issue for 1 project.

Everything what i read on internet it's about PHPStorm that seems to work in remote debugging with XDebug...so why not eclipse (i love eclipse framework) ?
