Is there a way to enable spell-checking in the Git Staging Commit Message text area? If not, how hard would it be to add that?

I'm a terrible typist, as can easily be seen from my posts to this forum. Bad enough in that context, but spelling errors are even worse in commits.

I thought we have this, but it seems we lost it (or I am wrong)

I also had the feeling this worked at one point, but I wasn't certain. I am certain it doesn't work now, at least, not by default. If there's a preference or setting to enable it, I can't find it.

Any developments on this?

It still doesn't work for me out-of-the-box, nor I can find a setting to enable.
I'm using Kepler on OS X, btw.
