How to run Elune [message #17603] Tue, 17 January 2006 06:31 Go to next message

Here is the instruction :)

1. Import the project into eclipse.
In this step, after import there maybe some problems shown in the problem
view. This is mainly because of the build path is unbound (each one's eclipse
workspace is difference, I should say this is really a trouble of Java). You
can find all the .jar in the project folder, so please bound them yourself.
Then problems should disappear.

2. Be sure to install wtp0.7 and its requirements.

3. Run the plugin.
Please choose the plugin in the workspace manually and add required plugins.
Make sure that you have choose org.eclipse.platform and org.eclipse.sdk as
well. They are required but cannot added just using the "Add Required
Plug-ins" button, I think its a bug of eclipse. Then you should run Elune
up.

If there is any question, please tell me :)
(SWT?) dynamic class path problems [message #17631 is a reply to message #17603] Tue, 17 January 2006 12:59 Go to previous messageGo to next message

Hi, Allen,
I did not look deeply yet but might be this link would be helpful:
http://eclipsewiki.editme.com/PDEDynamicClasspath
"Q: I am an SWT developer. Can I use dynamic classpaths?
A: Sadly, no. SWT team has a unique self-hosting setup whereby classpaths
for various environments are saved in the repository and renamed into
..classpath in the project depending on the platform they are working on.
They will have to continue to use their self-hosting methods. "

Then I also found very helpful in my PDE development problems:
http://www.xlml.com/aehso/2005/11/15/eclipse-plugin-osgi-dev eloper-tips/
"Having the plugin project in your development workspace should mean that
the runtime workspace will load the plugin from your project but this doesn't
completely work"
and then workarounds. They really helped me a lot

Curiously this link is already blank. But google has cache on it

It is the last question in FAQ

WTP1.0 doesn't compile Elune [message #17736 is a reply to message #17603] Thu, 19 January 2006 02:26 Go to previous messageGo to next message

I tried to run on
Eclipse installed from
wtp-all-in-one-sdk-1.0-win32.zip
since WTP0.7 is milestone and was not considered as mature.

But Elune gives 324 compile errors. It seems to me that I need one more
Eclipse installation and keep in mind (for all) not to upgrade WTP

Would it be difficult to upgrade it to 1.0, since it is release?

WTP0.7<-- WTP1.0? [message #17747 is a reply to message #17736] Thu, 19 January 2006 02:49 Go to previous messageGo to next message

Just curious how may I install previous/earlier version of plugin?
i.e. WTP0.7 having already WTP1.0

I am interested in WTP since BPEL Designer permitting changing workflow
elements on the fly through XML editing also has it as prerequisites

The best way is to disable and then to delete the WTP1.0-Plugin and then
install WTP0.7 again. You can do this in HELP -> SOFTWARE UPDATES -> MANAGE
CONFIGURATION

Thanks, Martin,
I also thought about it but it doesn't guarantee freedom from troubles
(loosing time and sanity). I am to agree with:
http://www.xlml.com/aehso/2005/11/15/eclipse-plugin-osgi-dev eloper-tips/
from my previous experience

And I think I have overexhauste my limit of troubles with Eclipse.

It was helpful also to know that GMF team is redeploying all each time:
http://www.eclipse.org/newsportal/article.php?id=836&gro up=eclipse.technology.gmf#836

something with what I shall try to stick
