Jubula standalone is not recognizing Kepler canvas [message #1176705]

We were using GUIdancer 7.0 and all our tests used to work fine on GUIdancer 7.0 with Eclipse 3.6.2(AUT).
Now we are migrating our tests from GUIdancer 7.0 to Jubula 7.2 standalone. We also want to change our AUT from eclipse 3.6.2 to Kepler (4.3).
But we observed that standalone Jubula is unable to recognize the canvas components of Kepler.
Apart from canvas everything works as expected.

Can you please help me in identifying the problem?

Hi there,

GEF components currently only can be tested in Eclipse 3.x applications. In Eclipse 4 compat layer applications it would be possible as far as I'm aware, but we've not done this yet. It's not possible in pure e4 applications.

Hi,
I faced with the same problem. In order to make Jubula work with GEF in e4 you can try to re-implement GEF components processing according to application you test in extending AUT plugin.
This solution works for me. GEF Inspector will be unavailable in this case ... but anyway it's better than nothing.

Hello team,
I see in latest Jubula 8.4 the problem is still actual.
Are there any expectations to have GEF support for e4+?

At this moment no support is planned. If you want that this is looked into please vote/ or write a comment into the Bug 414223[1]. But this is also only for the old GEF version.

If you want to have GEF4 supported this would be a new development since the changes to the old GEF version are big. This is not planned and is unlikely to get done in the future since it is only for a few people.
